Saturday Forest School is moving to Willow Hill Woods in Tulla for the autumn term!
Willow Hill is 4 acres of beautiful, private woodland, thoughtfully set up for Forest School play and outdoor exploration. Children can create their own “woodland soup” in the mud kitchen, enjoy games in the large, shady clearing, climb and swing on the ropes, or simply relax and unwind in the hammock area. Every corner offers opportunities for imaginative play, adventure, and connecting with nature.
Activities offered include:
~ Fun with instruments, rhythm and song.
~ Fire-lighting skills.
~ Cooking on an outdoor fire.
~ Nature-connection games & activities.
~ Bushcraft skills.
~ Nature art & crafts.
~ Freeplay adventure.
~ Freedom of choice in how children choose to play and learn.
Veronica McGuire is the founder of Badger & Blackbird Forest School and has been delivering Forest School for over 10 years. She works with schools as a Heritage in Schools specialist, and runs her own sessions at weekends throughout the year.
“I love nurturing a sense of belonging and connection – both with the woodland and with one another – in every group I work with. As we become comfortable in the woods, our senses naturally open, inviting us to slow down, explore and discover the endless wonders of the natural world.”
Michael McGuire of Drum Circle Percussion Workshops has been teaching percussion to children for more than 25 years. He brings rhythm and sound into the woods in a playful yet thoughtful way, making it an integral part of our Forest School sessions.
